David Bowie confirms new album and single Blackstar

The iconic singer will release the lead single from his 25th album in November.

David Bowie has confirmed rumours of his new album, called Blackstar.

The iconic singer revealed on his Facebook page that he his 25th studio album will be released next year on his birthday, January 8, with the single of the same name preceding on November 20. 

Blackstar the song was originally unveiled as the theme tune for Sky Atlantic drama The Last Panthers, which stars Samantha Morton and John Hurt. Listen below: 

David has also noted that contrary to rumours, the album is not a part of Lazarus - a stage production currently in development that features his music and is based on the film The Man Who Fell To Earth.

Meanwhile, the star will also contribute a brand new song for the upcoming SpongeBob SquarePants musical.
