Cheryl has suggested that she will release new music in 2018 in a new interview ahead of her appearance on The X Factor.

The singer, who is assisting Simon Cowell for the judges houses round of the show this weekend (Oct 21), revealed she has starting putting plans in motion for her music comeback but is keen to spent more time with her newborn son Bear first.

"It's been so long. They [the fans] have been very patient," she said in an interview on Lorraine. "I'm thinking about it, but I just want more time with Bear at the moment. I'm just loving that to be honest."

"But I do have plans and I am receiving songs and music and stuff at the moment."

She added: "I've got the luxury of being able to spend time with my newborn child. I think I'm going to take that for what it is. I'm going to take time - a few more months until he's grown."

Cheryl's last album, Only Human, was released in November 2014. She currently jointly holds the record with Jess Glynne for the most Number 1 singles on the Official Chart by a female artist.
