Cardi B has kickstarted her second album campaign in earnest with the announce of a new single, Hot Sh*t, dropping this Friday.

Cardi's first solo release in over a year, Hot Sh*t will feature collaborations from both Kanye West and Lil Durk.

The song's release was first confirmed in a advert screened during the US' annual BET Awards, with Cardi herself re-posting the visual, and just last night confirming Ye and Lil Durk's involvement on the track.

Taking to Instagram Live, however, Cardi informed fans that there would be no music video set to accompany the release - a crying shame, given how visuals for songs like Bodak Yellow and WAP arguably helped them on the way to their chart-topping success.

The follow-up to Cardi's expectation-defying debut album Invasion of Privacy has been in the works for years, but no concrete news of its release has been announced as of yet. It was originally launched in 2020 with the viral single WAP featuring Megan Thee Stallion, which became Cardi's first Number 1 hit in the UK

WAP was then followed up by the short but sweet Up, which hit Number 1 in the US, but had to settle for Number 16 on the UK's Official Singles Chart. Since then, Cardi has kept herself busy with a variety of collaborations with artists like Normani, Lizzo and Summer Walker.

Released in 2018, Invasion of Privacy contained Cardi's breakthrough hit Bodak Yellow (which only peaked at Number 24 in the UK!) as well as the UK Top 10 single I Like It with Bad Bunny and J Balvin.

Invasion of Privacy would end up peaking at Number 5 on the UK's Official Albums Chart, staying on the chart for a total of 45 weeks.
