BRITs Breakthrough winner Rag'n'Bone Man scores a second week at albums top spot

Plus there are big new entries from Amy Macdonald, Ryan Adams, and lots of albums enjoy a post-BRITs uplift.

Rag'n'Bone Man's momentum on the Official Albums Chart continues as another impressive sales week keeps him at Number 1.

The soul singer’s debut album Human has outsold the rest of this week’s Top 5 combined, shifting 69,000 across physical, digital and streaming platforms. As announced last week, the record is officially the fastest-selling male debut of the decade.

Real name Rory Graham, the rising star won the British Breakthrough award (as well as the previously announced Critics’ Choice gong) at the BRIT Awards earlier this week.

Settling for the runner-up slot is Amy Macdonald with her fourth album Under Stars (2). The album becomes Amy's fourth consecutive Top 5 entry on the Official Albums Chart, including her 2007 Number 1 debut This Is The Life. Look back at Amy's chart history here.

Rounding out this week's Top 5 are Ryan Adams who scores a personal best chart placing with Prisoner at 3, ahead of Ed Sheeran's x at 4 and Adele's 25 at 5. Ed's album has now spent 62 non-consecutive weeks in the Top 5.

New entries and high climbers

Elsewhere, the Trolls soundtrack rises six places to enter the Top 10 for the first time at Number 6, and two more new albums land in the Top 40; Future's self-titled fifth studio album lands at Number 15, while Dreadzone secure their first Top 40 release in over 20 years with Dread Times at Number 39.

Also, a number of this year’s BRIT Award winners, performers and nominees have seen significant boosts for their albums this week. Ed Sheeran's + rebounds six places to 13 while Best British group The 1975 enjoy a 67% boost week-on-week as their former Number 1 album I Like It When You Sleep... rockets 34 places to Number 18.

Best International Female nominee Sia also sees a rise in sales - This Is Acting jumps ten places to Number 21. There is further success for Emeli Sande's Long Live The Angels, which shifts eight spots to 28, Christine and the Queens' Chaleur Humaine climbs four rungs to Number 30, and Kings of Leon's W.A.L.L.S is boosted 21 positions to Number 35.

Finally, over on the Official Compilations Chart, the three-disc BRIT Awards 2017 album hit the Number 1 spot following the ceremony on February 22.
