Billy Lockett charts his evolution in My Only Soul music video: Premiere

The singer-songwriter unveils the video for his latest track.

The past two years have seen Billy Lockett evolve from performer on the local Northampton circuit to selling out headline shows across the UK.

Earlier this month Billy released two tracks, Fading Into Grey and My Only Soul, and charts his evolution in the accompanying visuals. The clip for Fading Into Grey, released last week, is a stripped-down black and white visual with nothing more than a piano.

The video for My Only Soul - premiered below - presents Billy in a glossy, amplified setup (teased at the end of the Fading video), still at the piano but surrounded by a full band and atmospheric strobe lighting. The song itself is also his most ambitious yet, fusing vulnerability with Coldplay-sized hooks.

Doubling up: Why the double A-side single is making a comeback

My Only Soul is already building nicely on streaming platforms and radio, featuring on Jo Whiley's New To 2 on BBC Radio 2, and after signing to Warner's East West Records earlier this year, he's heading back on the road with his new music supporting Lewis Capaldi across the UK this October/November. The dates are:
