It’s a good day to be Bastille, as they spend another week at Number 1 with their first album Bad Blood – their third non-consecutive week in the top spot.

The winners of Best British Breakthrough at the 2014 BRIT Awards overtook midweek leader Beck to hang on to the top spot another week, just 1,000 copies ahead of fellow BRIT winners Arctic Monkeys, whose Mastercard Album of the Year AM has to settle for second place. Ellie Goulding’s Halcyon climbs one place to Number 3.

Beck, who was out in front by a mere 450 copies on Wednesday’s Official Chart Update, finally lands at Number 4 with Morning Phase. He may have been denied a chart-topping album, but today’s position is still a personal best for him – his previous high in the Official Albums Chart was a Number 9 with Modern Guilt in 2011. Beyoncé’s self-titled album advances two more places to return to the Top 5.

New Entries and High Climbers

Aside from Beck’s Morning Phase (4), there is one other new entry in the Top 10. Wild Beasts score a personal best on the Official Albums Chart, as Present Tense enters at Number 10.

It’s also good news for Reverend and The Makers – their fourth album ThirtyTwo scores them a third Top 40 entry on the Official Albums Chart (13), their first since 2007’s He Said He Loved Me.

US singer-songwriter and former Polyphonic Spree member St Vincent gets very first UK Top 40 hit -her self-titled fourth album is new at Number 21. And it’s also a big day for ScHoolboy QOxymoron gives the LA rapper his debut hit on the chart, new at Number 23.

John Legend’s Love In The Future enjoys a sale surge thanks to the success of single All Of Me – he climbs 14 places to Number 15.

Super-cool crooner Michael Bublé’s album To Be Loved leaps 15 places to return to the Top 40 at Number 29, following his recent appearance on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway on ITV.

And lastly, following this week’s announcement that their debut album Definitely Maybe would be reissued later this year for its 20th anniversary, Oasis’ singles compilation Time Flies 1994–2009 leaps 32 places to Number 40.
