Avicii tops the Official Streaming Chart for fourth week with Wake Me

Wake Me Up is STILL the UK’s most listened to track, topping the Official Streaming Chart for fourth consecutive week.

Avicii’s Wake Me Up stays in pole position on the UK’s Official Streaming Chart. The superstar Swedish DJ and producer’s current single has now topped the chart for four consecutive weeks.

The Official Streaming Chart was launched in May of last year, and it is the first chart to rank audio streams from both ad-funded and subscription streaming services in the UK (including Spotify, Deezer, Napster, and Blink Box Music among others).

Wake Me Up spent three weeks at Number 1 on the sales-based Official Singles Chart last month, and has sold over 714,000 copies in the UK since its release.

Former Official Streaming Chart-topper, Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke FT TI and Pharell Williams, holds firm at Number 2, while Miley Cyrus’ We Can’t Stop surges 19 places to Number 3. Daft Punk’s Get Lucky FT Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers (4) and John Newman’s Love Me Again (5) complete this week’s Top 5.

New Entries

There are six new entries on this week’s Official Streaming Chart, which are spearheaded by Ellie Goulding’s Burn. The track, which is taken from the forthcoming deluxe edition of her current album Halcyon, debuted at the top of the Official Singles Chart on Sunday, earning Ellie her first ever UK Number 1 hit.

Lady Gaga is new in today at Number 39 with her latest single, Applause, while Arctic Monkeys debut at 47 with Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High. US DJ and producer Le Youth enters at 66 with Cool, while Justin Timberlake’s Take Back The Night and Drake’s Hold On We’re Going Home are at 69 and 79, respectively.
