Ariana Grande is proving to be dangerous competition for her rivals on this week's Official Albums Chart.

Ariana's third studio album Dangerous Woman is leading on today's update, just 100 chart sales ahead of her nearest chart rival Richard Ashcroft. The Verve's frontman returns with his first solo collection in six years called These People, his fifth studio album of his career.

Beyoncé's Lemonade falls one places to Number 3 and last week's Number 1 Drake's Views slides three places to 4.

Completing this week’s update Top 5 is a new entry from Bob Dylan. The US singer-songwriter’s 37th studio album Fallen Angels – which features 12 classic covers - starts at Number 5.

New entries and high climbers

Eric Clapton's 23rd studio album I Still Do is new at 6, while a remastered version of David Bowie compilation Changesonebowie debuts at Number 11.

Meanwhile, Pop-rock trio Against The Current are on course for a Top 20 entry at 12 with their debut album In Our Bones, the 20th anniversary edition of Manic Street Preachers' Everything Must Go is at 14, Bruce Foxton's third studio album Smash the Clock could be his first Top 40 entry (18), and Lonely the Brave could grab their second with Things Will Matter (20).

Two greatest hits compilations could be returning to this week's Top 40: Bob Dylan's The Very Best Of is at 32 and Bon Jovi's Greatest Hits climbs 12 places to reach 35.

Two more new entries on course to enter this week’s Official Albms Chart Top 40. Swedish metal band Katatonia are at 38 with The Fall of Hearts, and country-rock band Mudcrutch sit at 39 with 2.

Finally, a new deluxe edition of Adam and the Ants' Kings of the Wild Frontier is at 40.

At least the UK has good tastes. All the pop and rap on the charts now are just trash. Richard Ashcroft isn't doing too well solo i miss the Verve but its a pipe dream. However he is getting better and there are some good tracks at least better than dangerous woman on his new album.

Awesome! I really hope "Dangerous Woman" does get the number 1 spot this week, unlike what happened with Sia's "This Is Acting"...

Why is this album so big anyway? It's only got one hit so far. Her other one was filled with hits.

As much as I disagree with you, I thank you for telling us she's never had a UK Number 1.

She has had a No.1 single though. And she's still successful here so who cares if she doesn't get a No.1 album
