Adele has debuted the video for her new single Hello.

The track – out today – is the first to be lifted from the singer-songwriter’s upcoming third studio album 25.

The video for Hello was filmed earlier this month in Montreal, Canada and was shot by Xavier Dolan.

"When I first heard [Hello], all the images were already running by so clearly in my head - and her trust and generosity allowed me to create freely,” Dolan said of the video, "Being on set with her was wonderful. And the thought of directing her in the 'acting' aspect of the term was exciting. I discovered that she's a very talented actress - no matter what she'll tell you."

"Adele allowed me to dive into this full throttle," he added. "I could abandon myself artistically and emotionally, like she always does. It made me extremely proud."

Earlier this week, Adele confirmed that 25 is set for UK release on November 20, after posting a letter on Twitter that described being 25 as a "turning point... teetering on the edge of being an old adolescent and a fully fledged adult".

25 follows 2011's 21, which became an instant classic, selling over 4.5 million copies in the UK and becoming one of the best selling albums of all time.

A wonderful comeback track from an extraordinary artist. The lyrics grab you and as usual her vocals are faultless. Looking forward to November 20th.

Easily THE MOST ANTICIPATED AND MOST RELEVANT release of 2015. She is unstoppable and I'll eat my hat, if this does not go gaily ahead entering at the top spot (both single AND album) with a BANG (and gay gasp as vocalised from Kathy Griffin)!!

Takes it time to get going (vid & song) but full on Adele when it does! But can't help thinking she's gonna sing after every 'Hello' the words 'is it me your looking for?' :)
