The winner of Best Picture at the 2016 Academy Awards is leading this week's Official Video Chart at the halfway stage.

As of today's mid-week update, Spotlight has shifted 23,000 copies, 8000 more than it's closest rival. The biographical drama starring Mark Ruffalo and Rachel McAdams beat the likes of Bridge of Spies, Room and Mad Max: Fury Road to the Oscar back in February.

Three more new entries also look to start out their Official Video Chart journeys in the Top 5. Fellow Best Picture nominee The Big Short starring Christian Bale and Steve Carell is this week's Number 2, Robert De Niro and Zack Efron's Dirty Grandpa lands at 3 and Chloë Grace Moretz's The 5th Wave is at 4.

Rounding out this week's Top 5 is last week's Number Creed, a new spin-off to the Rocky franchise starring Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone.

New entries and high climbers

Ahead of the sequel's release, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles jolts five places to 24 and Taiwanese martial arts film The Assassin starts out at 28. Series One of The Durrells is a new entrant close behind at Number 29.

Finally, The Hunger Games - Complete Collection catapults 33 places up to 33 and CSI - The Finale is new at 34.

The Official Video Chart is revealed here on OfficialCharts.com every Sunday at 5.45pm. Click here to see the latest Top 100
