TAKE THAT

Founded as a five piece in 1990, British pop group Take That changed line-up several times over the subsequent decades, but with their members always drawn from the founding members Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Robbie Williams.

From their original pin-up early years, the band had a typically chaotic 90s break-up when Robbie left the fold, but managed to pull off one of the most successful and surprising comebacks of the 2000s when Gary, Howard, Mark and Jason re-branded as a man-band with their beautifully mature ballad Patience. From there, they continued on as a foursome, until Robbie re-joined for their Progress album cycle. Following a country-wide tour, Robbie left the band, as did Jason a few years later, now leaving Gary, Mark and Howard as a three-piece.

What happened to the PROGRESSED E.P. released in June 2011 and made it all the way to No.1?  I forget how many weeks it was No.1, but the point is it is missing. x

For some reason it's credited under the main 'Progress' album. If you look at the chart history for that, it jumps up to number 1 again in June 2011.

Take That deserve more n1's, some of their more recent songs could very well top the charts if only people took the time to listen to them...

These guys are just AMAZING. Never really liked Robbie and deeply dislike him after what he did to Gary (sour grapes!). Gary is the best singer, wrote nearly all the songs and is gorgeous, so he's my favourite. I think Howards voice is second best and sounds simply awesome with Gary's voice in Said It All. Mark and Jason... what can I say? Two simply amazing guys that, all four of them together, create a boy band twice as good as any other. The song-writing is legendary (love you, Gary!) and they tackle so many deep feelings in both Take That songs and Gary's individual singles. They show a true insight to the world and what it means to be human: they never swear or write rude songs like so many 'pop' songs These Days. What else can I say? Just the best - the day they formed was the Greatest Day ever, their music Rules the World, their singing Shines... I've Said It All!!! There's a million other references in my head too, but I don't have that much spare time as I'm doing my GCSE's. Their music is a comfort to me in the most stressful of times. Love you ALL so much!
