Girls Aloud: "Our main aim on tour is to do Sarah Harding justice"
Kimberley, Cheryl, Nicola and Nadine on how The Girls Aloud Show will 'celebrate' their late bandmate Sarah

With Girls Aloud kicking off The Girls Aloud Show in Dublin on May 17, the group have revealed how pivotal a part late bandmate Sarah Harding played in their decision to tour once more.
Sarah tragically passed away in September 2021 aged 39, after receiving an advanced stage breast cancer diagnosis in 2020. Since then, Nadine Coyle, Cheryl Tweedy, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh have worked to raise over £1million for cancer charities, including The Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal.
Now, the band explain they want their show to 'celebrate' Sarah's life and legacy.

Speaking ahead of The Girls Aloud Show's opening night, Cheryl says: "Sarah stayed with me for about a week and she was throwing around ideas of how we could celebrate 20 years of Girls Aloud while she was still here.
"At one point, she did say to us: 'Even if I can't make it, I hope you girls do it without me.'"
Kimberley adds: "One of our main aims on this tour is to do Sarah justice and give us and our fans that moment to celebrate her. I think they need it, I think we all need it."

On the celebratory aim of the show, Cheryl explains: "I want us to bring back happy memories for people. I love listening to music that transports me to the way I felt at a different time, and I think Girls Aloud are that band for a lot of people.
Kimberley agrees, adding: "It's amazing at this stage in our career to be able to go out there and do this. We're coming into this tour from a place of joy.
"There's always something really special when we get together. It's a bit mad, but that's just us.
"I think I'm only realising now just how much our music means to people. I get so many different kinds of people approaching me to say that our songs hold special memories for them or remind them of a time when they had fewer responsibilities.
"And I mean, some of the people who tell me these things are my bosses!"
The Girls Aloud Show begins at Dublin's 3Arena on Friday May 17.
