ACR is only good when songs like Dance Monkey is at the top for 11 weeks. But terrible when good songs get too short of a chart run (or not at all thanks to the three song rule) :/

I'm very sad that the songs don't have a chance to beat Bryan Adams's record for non-consecutive weeks at #1.
We don't have ACR in our country, the US doesn't have it either. So why, does the UK have ACR? I'll never know.

It's a bit of a blunt instrument but I think they have to do something to push older singles out of the way

I guess, but I've already said my piece on why the charts need so much weight put on streaming before (as it accounts for about 97% of all music consumption in the UK).

It's more the fact that it's not accurately reflecting what the most popular songs in the UK chart are.

I get that older songs sticking around for months on end is tedious, but at least it's trustworthy!

Besides, there are instances where ACR isn't even effective, take 'Someone You Loved' for example.

Yeah, I think it's a record for OCC, but I think a couple of Billboard posts got somewhere in the 20's back when we had loads of comments back there on a regular basis.

The best thing about this chart week is Oasis re entering the charts, even if it is only right down at 80, that's quite impressive considering it's only an old demo.
