So pleased Paul McCartney and Barry Gibb have had Number One albums this year.
Then you have the Singles Chart where they can't get a Top 100 hit.
That's probably down to real music fans don't want to stream hit, download it etc.
Very sad and the Singles Chart is pants.

Thass wot I think abahrt Barry Gibb n all. Ere No 1 for a Bee Gee brother. The rest is all rubbish apart from them classic artists.

Very true, any artist that has been around for more than 5 or so years barely get into singles chart, take the no 2 new entry by passenger, hasn’t had a song get near the top 40 since his first and yet has had about 7 top 10 albums. Millions of bands and singers only chart with albums. The singles chart is an absolute joke, the sales chart for singles is better but they don’t count that. Yes congratulations to Barry.

Aside from the top few places the sales of albums these days are embarrassingly low - and sometimes even those top few places aren’t exactly massive sellers.
The modern world concentrates on single tunes rather than albums and like it or not things change and move on and the singles chart reflects the sounds that people and especially the 16-25 year olds are listening to.
But Barry is a legend and its good to see him achieve what he has this week.

Very accurate regarding people's musical tastes in these times. I just hope people gravitate towards decent music in the future, but I imagine, realistically, that music will become even more dumbed down and brain numbing.

Nice timing from Barry Gibb as 15th Jan 1978 was the start of the chart week that saw the Fever soundtrack go to Number 1 in the States for the first of 24 weeks.
