So happy to see Erasure debuting at 4 , its amazing for a band +30 years in music biz still getting it.

Still 4 big albums with over 600 top 75 weeks going strong.
This time next year, one of them should hit their 1000th top 100 week.

Am I the only one to question the worth and meaning of charts theses days. You get a top 10 album with sales that wouldnt have got you near the Swiss top 100 in the 80s. And in the 2nd week its all gone and forgotten. If you are not Ed Sheeran.
WHAT IS THE POINT?

Yes, sadly the charts are utterly meaningless these days, especially the singles chart which is a joke.

Nobody buys album & listening music is so cheap

Absolutely, singles charts aren't serious for me anymore since legendaries artists such Kylie and Madonna won't have top tens songs anymore cuz they're not strong on streaming or you tube views but they're still strong on sales. That is ridiculous

True, but charts only reflect what's happening.
If you are looking for closure, or reviews ,there's websites like AOTY and Metacritic for that.
And You don't have to be Ed,
There's a lot of underrated out there that don't even make it to top 100 (but you'll find them on review sites, with excellent scores)
Im a huge fan of Alternative but most don't chart yet they're better in many ways than people listen to these days

So Lewis Capaldi must be getting close to equalling Sam Smith's record of 69 consecutive weeks in top 10 with a debut album.
