Katy Perry and Zedd collaborating sounds like a smash hit to us, but is it just a pipe dream or something close to a reality?

The Russian-German DJ and producer has been supporting Katy on the Australian and New Zealand leg of her Witness tour, with Katy even asking fans whether they should work on a song together on her Instagram story.

Now Zedd has fuelled the fire, confirming that a song between the two of them does exist, but he's not sure if it will be ever be released.

"I'm always relatively open about the fact that I make a lot of music with people," Zedd told Australian radio presenter Smallzy. "It doesn't always come out, but we've been working. I always wanted to release a song with her, so if we all get lucky, then maybe we'll finish the song and it will come out."

Zedd's song The Middle made headlines earlier this year after it was revealed that the 12 demos of the UK and US Top 10 hit were made before the final version with Maren Morris was selected over vocal cuts from the likes of Camila Cabello and Anne-Marie.

Katy's Witness World Tour is currently taking over Sydney, and will conclude in Auckland on August 21. Click here to view Katy Perry's full UK chart history, including 24 Top 40 singles.
