It appears Zedd and Alessia Cara's new collaboration is here to Stay as their single logs at second week at Number 1 on the Official Trending Chart.

The track tops the list of songs making a big impact in the UK this week, based on movement up the Official Singles Chart.

Stay is on the cusp of entering the Top 10, currently at Number 10 on the latest Official Singles Chart sales flash, up one place from last week. If it keeps its current position or climbs, it'll mark Zedd's third Top 10 in the UK, following his Hayley Williams collaboration Stay The Night in February 2014 and his feature on Hailee Steinfeld and Grey's Stay this year.

The track could also give Alessia her first UK Top 10; her previous best was her debut single Here, which reached Number 28 last January. Look back at her history on the Official Chart here.

Elsewhere on the trending Top 20, Calvin Harris' new single Heatstroke is already impacting after its release last Friday (March 31). Heatstroke features Ariana Grande, Pharrell and Young Thug and is heading for this week's Official Singles Chart Top 20, currently at 16.

Little Mix are also making waves with their latest single No More Sad Songs. Following the unveiling of its accompanying Coyote Ugly-themed video, the track is on course to enter the Top 20 on the singles chart this Friday (April 7).

Finally, producers Stargate appear on the Official Trending Chart with Waterfall. The song, which features Sia and Pink, is set to become the duo's first UK Top 40 single as a named act, having previously produced a number of hits for the likes of Rihanna, Coldplay and Selena Gomez.

About the Official Trending Chart

The Official Trending Chart was launched in 2016 to highlight the hottest new tracks beginning to make an impact in the UK every week.

The Top 20 rundown, published on OfficialCharts.com every Tuesday, based on the first four days’ sales of each chart week, is designed to highlight emerging hits as they begin to scale the Official Charts and build buzz.

The Official Trending Chart ranks titles which are showing week-on-week chart growth, and is the only “new music” chart to reflect audio track sales and streams comprehensively across all services.

Devised by the Official Charts Company in close consultation with labels, retailers and media, the chart since launch has highlighted emerging hits such as Number 1 single One Dance by Drake, and The Chainsmokers & Halsey's chart topper Closer.

The chart is designed to help highlight hit singles in their early stages of their growth, in the light of the shift in release strategies of record labels over the past six months. Under “On Air On Sale”, labels have started to release new music for consumers to buy or stream on the same day as those tracks are released to media (including radio stations and TV).

No it won't. It will be Zedd's third top ten, as he was featured on Hailee Steinfeld's Starving along with Grey.
