X Factor winner Sam Bailey expecting third child

X Factor’s Sam Bailey is expecting her third child… Who has been tentatively named Peanut. Plus: Sam's debut album to be released later this month.

Congratulations to Sam Bailey and her husband Craig who have just revealed that they are expecting their third child.

The 36-year-old former prison officer announced that she is 10 weeks pregnant in this morning’s edition of The Sun (Thursday, March 6), and followed it up by posting an ultrasound image of the upcoming addition to her family.

Sam shot to fame last year after fighting off tough competition from fellow finalist Nicholas McDonald to win the 2013 series of the X Factor. She then went head-to-head with Pharrell Williams’ mega-selling hit, Happy, with her cover of Demi Lovato’s Skyscraper to take the Official 2013 Christmas Number 1 single.

To date, Sam's version of Skyscraper has sold nearly 300,000 copies, according to the Official Charts Company's sales data. Demi Lovato’s original version of the track, which was released in the UK in 2012, has sold 187,000 copies to date.

In related news, Sam is set to release her debut album, The Power Of Love, later this month (March 24). The 11-track effort will feature covers of Shania Twain’s From This Moment On, Faith Hill’s There You'll Be, Dreamgirls’ And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going FT X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger as well as the title track, which was originally by Jennifer Rush.
