The reboot to the Tomb Raider movie franchise is heading for Number 1 on the Official Video Chart.

Starring Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft in the new origin story, Tomb Raider has so far shifted 42,000 DVD and Blu-ray units. One film from the previous Tomb Raider series with Angelina Jolie in the title role has peaked at Number 1 on the Official Chart too. Lara Croft - Tomb Raider 2: The Cradle of Life hit the top spot in February 2004.

Last week's Number 1 The Greatest Showman is 15,000 units behind on today's Official Chart Update (2), but as we have seen from the soundtrack on the Official Albums Chart, don't count Hugh Jackman and Co. out. The movie hit the headlines again this week for being named the best-selling digital download movie of all time.

Also in this week's midweek Top 5, The Incredibles rises three places to Number 5 as its sequel hits cinemas.

New entries and high climbers

Biblical drama Paul, Apostle of Christ opens at Number 15, one position ahead of Nicolas Cage comedy-horror Mom and Dad (16). Spanish animated movie Tad the Lost Explorer and the Secret of King Midas is hunting down the 23 position, while Emmy nominated drama Patrick Melrose starring Benedict Cumberbatch is at 24.

Finally, crime comedy Gringo starring Charlize Theron is set to debut at Number 26.
