Thrift Shop, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ ode to charity shop bargain hunting, surges 15 places to top the Official Streaming Chart.
After climbing to Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart on Sunday, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ Thrift Shop FT Wanz has topped the Official Streaming Chart, too.
The Official Streaming Chart is compiled by the Official Charts Company on behalf of the British music industry, and has been running since May last year. It is the first chart which ranks audio streams from both ad-funded and subscription streaming services.
Thrift Shop, which climbed a massive 34 places on last week’s Official Streaming Chart, surges a further 15 places to end Will.I.Am and Britney Spears’ three week run at Number 1 with Scream And Shout. Scream And Shout falls one place to Number 2 today.
Calvin Harris’ Drinking From The Bottle FF Tinie Tempah is at Number 3 this week, while James Arthur’s Impossible (Number 4) and The Lumineers’ Ho Hey (Number 5) complete this week’s Top 5.
There are a total of 10 new entries on this week’s Official Streaming Chart, with Briitsh duos Disclosure and AlunaGeroge leading the charge with their collaboration, White Noise, at Number 43. Dizzee Rascal’s Bassline Junkie is new in at Number 52, Rita Ora’s Radioactive debuts at Number 60, while Devlin’s Rewind FT Diane Birch is one place behind it at Number 61.
Lawson’s latest single, Learn To Love Again, enters at Number 74, while two more tracks from Biffy Clyro’s former Official Albums Chart Number 1 album Opposites, Biblical and The Joke’s On Us, make their Official Streaming Chart debuts at Number 79 and Number 94, respectively.
This week’s new entries are completed by the Fleetwood Mac classic, Go Your Own Way, at Number 80, Ellie Goulding’s Explosions at 92 and Little Mix’s Change Your Life at Number 99.
