The X Factor's new series featuring Robbie & Ayda Williams and Louis Tomlinson begins on Saturday September 1

The launch date for the fifteenth series of The X Factor has been revealed.

The 2018 season kicks off on Saturday, September 1, and marks the first time that new judges Louis Tomlinson and Robbie & Ayda Williams have sat behind the judges desk. 

Simon Cowell is the only permanent returning judge, while Sharon Osborne will act as an impartial judge during the live shows.

Robbie was previously a guest judge alongside Gary Barlow in 2011, and Sharon Osbourne in 2013 and 2016, and Louis is also no stranger to the franchise; he was part of One Direction who came third in 2011, and served as a mentor in 2015 helping Simon Cowell at the Judges' Houses stage.
