The Weeknd is the highest climber on this week's Billboard Hot 100 in the United States with Starboy.

Fresh from his performance on Saturday Night Live, the Canadian's lead single from upcoming album Starboy shoots from Number 40 to this week's Number 3 - the biggest jump into the Top 5 in over a year.

The Daft Punk collaboration was the second most streamed song over the last week and was also runner-up when it came to digital purchases. Increase airplay also played a factor in the song rocketing up the Hot 100, but not enough to move it any higher just yet. In turn, the song reaches both his and Daft Punk's second highest position on the chart.

Holding at Number 1 for a seventh week are The Chainsmokers and Halsey with their song Closer, closely followed once again by twenty one pilots' Heathens. The Chainsmokers now have the longest reign at Number 1 for a duo since Outkast's Hey Ya logged nine weeks at Number 1 over 2003 and 2004.

Further down the chart, gnash and Olivia O'Brien's I Hate U I Love You hits a new peak of Number 13 and Niall Horan's This Town debuts at Number 63.

On the Billboard 200 albums chart, Shawn Mendes' second album Illuminate surpasses its UK peak of Number 3 and hits Number 1, besting Bruce Springsteen's Chapter & Verse which settles for a Number 2 peak on both sides of the Atlantic.
