The Script’s Danny O'Donoghue talks about new album #3

To celebrate the release of their new album, #3, on Monday (September 10) OfficialCharts.com caught up with The Script's frontman Danny O'Donoghue.

Danny reveals that fans of his band will be pleasantly surprised by the album’s direction:

“People were probably listening to us missing their lost love, and wanting to slit their wrists,” laughs Danny. “But this is a record that you’ll be able to play in pubs and clubs. We’re loud and proud about what we do now!”

That said, #3 still has plenty of epic, emotional moments with the likes of Six Degrees Of Separation tacking the recent break-up of his relationship – “It’s a really honest snapshot of my life,” says the singer - to coming to terms with the death of his father on If You Could See Me Now.

“My father passed away when I was writing the first album,” explains Danny. “It was probably too fresh and too raw to write about at the time. We literally went on tour and had our first Number 1 with the album. It was a crazy, crazy time.

“If You Could See Me Now goes right back to that time, and sums up the last four years. What would that person think of me now? What would my dad say to me now if he saw me? On one hand I know what he’d say, but on the other, I’ll never know. I’m proud to be able to put that into a song.”
