Pop Smoke claimed the UK's biggest debut album of 2020 with Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon, OfficialCharts.com can confirm.

The posthumous record by the US rapper - released in July following his death in February - heads up the Top 10 debuts of the year with 222,000 chart sales.

Shoot For Stars debuted at Number 2 and became a staple of the Top 10 for five months, eventually reaching Number 1 some 12 weeks after its release to become the first debut album to hit the summit in 2020.

Speaking at the time it hit the top, Steven Victor, head of Pop Smoke's US label, Victor Victor, described reaching Number 1 as a "bittersweet" moment, adding: "London was a special place for Pop - it was a city that he connected with and was drawn to. A place that inspired him but also gave him a sense of peace.

"The album going to Number 1 in the UK is incredibly special, but bittersweet – not only is it a reflection of his relationship with 808-Melo and so many of his U.K.-based collaborators but really encapsulates what he aspired to do – to make music that inspires and resonated all over the world."

Behind Pop Smoke, the second biggest debut album of the year was KSI’s Dissimulation, which landed at Number 2 in May after a close battle for the top spot with The 1975.

So well deserved for Ava Max. Her album is great and so is she.

The real revelation this year besides Dua Lipa
(but Future Nostalgia, wasn't Dua Lipa's first album or else it would be also here).
Together they saved 2020.
