The Official Charts Company are celebrating the countdown to Christmas with our Official Number 1 singles of 2011 Advent Calendar! Day 5 is Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’.

We’re counting down the days until Christmas with our virtual Official Charts Advent Calendar featuring the Number 1 singles of 2011.
Behind today’s window is a track which stole the show at this year's BRIT Awards and has been covered by everyone from Katy Perry to the cast of Glee, and pretty much everyone who auditioned for this year’s X Factor. It is, of course, Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’.
‘Someone Like You’ sold nearly 112,000 copies in the first week it went to Number 1, and has sold over 1.2m copies to date, helping Adele’s second album, ‘21’, to become the biggest selling album of the 21st Century.
