The Killers are Number 1 in Ireland for the first time in almost eight years with their new album Imploding The Mirage.

The Las Vegas group’s sixth studio album debuts at the top of this week’s Official Irish Albums Chart after scoring the most paid-for sales of the last seven days, replacing Folklore by Taylor Swift at the helm.

Imploding The Mirage is the band’s fifth Number 1 in total following Hot Fuss (2005), Sam’s Town (2006), Day & Age (2008) and Battle Born (2012). 2017’s Wonderful Wonderful peaked at Number 2.

Folk group The Waterboys – who have three Irish members – enter at Number 14 with new album Good Luck Seeker, the collective’s seventh Top 50 entry.

Finally, Liverpudlian singer Jamie Webster bows at Number 26 with his debut album We Get By.
