The Hobbit heading for Official Video Chart hat-trick

Battle Of The Five Armies is heading for a third week at Number 1.

The Hobbit is on course to be Number 1 for a third consecutive week in the Official Video Chart. The final instalment of the three part fantasy film adaption has sold nearly 650,000 copies in just three weeks, and is well on its way to becoming one of the biggest selling video titles of the year.

There are three new entries in today’s Official Video Chart Update. Birdman - starring Michael Keaton, Zach Galifianakis and Emma Stone - is the highest new entry. The Oscar-winning film enters at Number 3 today, sitting less than 1000 sales behind Exodus – Gods and Kings (2), with three chart days remaining. Angelina Jolie-produced and directed war film Unbroken is a new entry at Number 4, whilst Sci-fi action film Automata is at Number 9.
