Will Lady Gaga regain her chart mojo next Friday? It's been 6 years since she last topped the charts so we shall see won't we?

Lots of great new entries in this week's Top 40 & really pleased to see: Olly Murs, Martin Garrix & Bebe Rexha among the biggest climbers this week. Some predictions for next week:
- It will be 'Closer' vs 'Perfect Illusion' for the #1. Lady Gaga went to #1 on iTunes in just a few hours, so I expect she will probably be the next #1 if those good sales can be maintained. :)
- 'The Greatest' was only released on Tuesday, so it only had 3 days worth of sales & streaming on the chart this week. That's why I think in another 7 days that it will become a very big climber next week & Offaiah's 'Trouble' could be another major climber due to quite strong sales & decent radio support is promoting this song well.
- This week, 'Closer' leads sales for a 2nd week & streaming for a 1st week... it's rising very slightly on the former chart metric & increasing a lot on the latter category, which I believe will continue into next week. So if Lady Gaga doesn't debut at #1 next week (we'll get a better idea of the possibility of this happening on the Monday update), then I wouldn't be surprised if The Chainsmokers & Halsey got to 6+ weeks at #1.

Agree that we will get a clear indication on monday but at the moment Gaga has gone down to #5 in the itunes chart. looks like being a real possibility that Sia will be the main new entry challenging for the top spot. And You forgot `Side By Side` By Ariana Grande is currently in the Itunes top 10, that could be a real contender to hit the top 10 next week also.

Hey Riley, I hope you've had a good week! :)
Well at this rate, 'Perfect Illusion' is going to debut far lower than I first thought; it's now on 42% of the sales of 'Closer' & has never done too well on streaming so far (& flopping on all metrics right now). I think Lady Gaga would be lucky to debut in the Top 10 now. :(
Yeah 'The Greatest' will definitely be the highest new entry on Friday & is still likely to go Top 10, but won't be #1 for now though. 'Side To Side' is currently looking like it might out-peak 'Into You' & potentially go Top 10, maybe even as soon as next week... 'Side To Side' is also getting good YouTube updates as well. :D

I`ve had a great week thanks, you?
Yea i don`t think Gaga will be getting top 10. Her start on the charts has been very similar to how Katy Perry begun with `Rise`Went straight in a #1 but then just about made top 40. Really think the charts are changing, these big artists like Gaga, katy perry & Britney Spears ar`nt the power they use to be and it looks similar in America.
Defiantly think Sia will be hitting the top 10 and Ariana Grande has a great chance of scrapping in there (or beating her peak of `Into You`) if she can maintain the sales.
Also really hoping that on Friday, Mike Perry can climb with `The Ocean` as it`s quickly becoming one of my favourites

It's the streaming that has become the problem of them & sales always seem to fall a lot in the 2nd week. Well 'Rise' wasn't an official single, so I have a lot more hope for the lead single from her next album. I think the reason Lady Gaga is dropping in performance fast is because her fans are not used to her rock sound, like in 'Perfect Illusion', & I personally think that she should just stick with making dance-pop songs. :)
I agree with your predictions for Sia & Ariana Grande. I love 'The Ocean' & most tropical-house songs, but I doubt it'll last much longer in the Top 40 unfortunately. Sales for it don't look great right now & it's going down a bit on Spotify at the moment. It has been Top 20 in a few countries across Europe though.

I agree. Problem with `The Ocean` is that i have not heard it once on the radio. No airplay at all.

So do you think the OCC should incorporate radio airplay into the charts then? I know it plays a big role in the Billboard Hot 100 for the US (the other website I comment on) but I disagree with it because unlike sales & streaming, you can't decide what is played.
However a song that has been huge in Europe but just can't cross over to the UK charts is 'Don't Be So Shy'... I thought that would have gained a lot on radio by now. So what songs do you like & dislike in the Top 10 right now then? :)

Not sure if radio airly should be put into the charts but i do think that songs like `The Ocean` `Let Me Hold You (Turn Me On)` should be played more on radio for the simple reason that people can hear the song and find out about it so it can boost in downloads and sales.
Tbh i like the hole top 10 right now., only song i don`t love is `Treat You Better` it`s ok but i prefer `Stitches` and IKWYDLS
