Taylor Swift's Anti-Hero debuts at Number 1 on UK's Official Trending Chart ahead of Midnights chart dominance

The lead cut from Midnights is by and far the biggest commercial breakthrough from Taylor's tenth album.

It's not so exhausting rooting for the anti-hero when the music is this good.

Taylor Swift debuts the Number 1 Trending Song in the UK right now with Anti-Hero, the lead single from her new album Midnights.

Co-written and co-produced by Taylor and frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff, Anti-Hero has already been described as one of her favourite songs she's ever made, and its easy to see why.

The flitty synth-pop track sees Tay get deep into self-analysis, especially around the insecurities and anxieties that being one of the most famous women in the world has left her with.

MORE: Why Taylor vs the Arctics is an important battle for both acts

Anti-Hero is currently leading the race to debut at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart this week, un-seating the position Sam Smith and Kim Petras have held for a month with Unholy

It would be Taylor's second UK chart-topper, and first in five years, since 2017's burn it all down and start again anthem Look What You Made Me Do.

Yesterday, we also revealed that Midnights is pulling ahead by some distance in the race for the UK's Number 1 album too. Can Tay pull off the double?

Elsewhere on the Trending Chart, we have another new Taylor entry in the form of Midnights opening track Lavender Haze, two cuts from the Arctics' latest album The Car (I Ain't Quite Where I Think I Am and Sculptures Of Anything Goes) and Meghan Trainor returning to the doo-wop pop that engineered her rise to fame in 2014 (Made You Look).

This weeks high riser is Dance All Over Me by George Ezra could rise 27 places  this week.

And finally, Living Without You by Sigala, David Guetta and Sam Ryder could make its UK Top 40 debut, rising more than 20 slots up into the upper echelons of the chart. It's just in time for Eurovision hero Sam to release his forthcoming debut album, There's Nothing But Space, Man!
