Susan Boyle and Florence in fierce Official Albums Chart battle!

It’s neck and neck at the summit of today’s Official Albums Chart Update between Britain’s Got Talent phenomenon Susan Boyle and last week’s chart topper Florence & The Machine.  With less than 1,500 copies separating both acts, it has been all change in the last 24 hours with Susan now nudging into the lead with new release ‘Someone To Watch Over Me’ looking to knock Florence & The Machine’s ‘Ceremonials’from the top spot this Sunday.  

‘Someone To Watch Over Me’ is the Scottish singer’s third album and features a selection of some of her favourite songs including ‘Unchained Melody’ and ‘Mad World’. 

X Factor 2010 contestant Cher Lloyd’s debut album ‘Sticks And Stones’ enters today’s Update at Number 3.  The RedOne-produced release features debut Number 1 single ‘Swagger Jagger’ and its follow up ‘With Ur Love (ft. Mike Posner)’.

The Wanted follow just 1,200 copies behind with their second studio release ‘Battleground’, which enters at Number 4 today, featuring former Number 1 single ‘Glad You Came.’

Dutch violinist Andre Rieu waltzes into the Official Albums Update at 7 with his new studio album ‘And The Waltz Goes On’ featuring soprano Hayley Westenra, whilst self-titled debut album from British folk singer Birdy enters at 9.

Over on the Official Single Chart Update, JLS are on course to bag an impressive sixth Number 1 this Sunday with new track ‘Take A Chance On Me’, taken from forthcoming album ‘Jukebox’which is due for release next Monday. There’s no change at Number 2 and 3 in today’s Official Singles Chart Update as Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love (ft. Calvin Harris)’ and Labrinth’s ‘Earthquake (ft. Tinie Tempah)’ both hold firm.

Pixie Lott returns with new single 'What Do You Take Me For', featuring Pusha T at Number 7, while London singer Loick Essien is in at Number 13 with ‘Me Without You’ and Maverick Sabre takes up the final place in today’s Top 20 new entries with his second single, ‘I Need’, entering today’s Official Singles Chart Update at 14.
