Steps are lining up a collaboration - their first ever - for their next single.

News of the track was teased by BMG UK president Alistair Norbury in Music Week, who said the song's release is imminent.

Update: The group have announced their new single Heartbreak In This City will feature Michelle Visage. The star is a judge on RuPaul's Drag Race and was a member of girl group Seduction in the late 1980s.

Discussing the success of Steps' latest album What The Future Holds, Norbury said: "The Steps campaign carries on all year until their hoped for shows at then end of 2021.

"There's more repertoire, there's a very exciting feature track coming imminently."

It's not yet known if the collaboration is a brand-new song or a re-worked track from their current record, though the group have recently been suggesting album cut Heartbreak In This City could be their next single.

What The Future Holds debuted at Number 2 on the Official Albums Chart last December - their seventh Top 5 album - and is currently certified silver with 67,000 chart sales.

Steps' rescheduled What The Future Holds tour is due to kick off in Sheffield on November 2.
