J. J. Abrams’ latest Star Trek film has stormed to the top of the Official Video Charts.

Star Trek: Into Darkness has gone straight to Number 1 on the Official Video Chart.

The latest instalment of J. J. AbramsStar Trek film prequels stars Chris Pine as Captain Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock and Benedict Cumberbatch as Khan. Star Trek: Into Darkness has shot straight to the top of the Official Video Chart, and also tops the Official DVD and Official Blu-ray charts, as well the Official Film On Video genre chart, too.

Since it was released last Monday, Star Trek: Into Darkness has sold over half a million copies. It is the fifth fastest selling video title of 2013, and is already the ninth biggest selling DVD and Blu-ray of the year so far.

Last week’s Official Video Chart-topper, Olympus Has Fallen slides into second place, while the 2-disc special edition of Disney’s The Little Mermaid debuts at Number 3. Series 6 of The Big Bang Theory – which is Number 1 on the Official TV On Video genre chart – debuts at Number 4, while Tom Cruise’s Oblivion completes this week’s Top 5.
