Spice Girl Geri Horner has landed her first television presenting role, and it's all about her specialist subject: The 90s.

Airing on BBC Two later in the year, Geri's Nineties: The Decade That Made Me will see Ginger Spice reflect on her monumental success in the 1990s, a time which saw her score seven Number 1 singles with Spice Girls, as well two solo chart-toppers.

Geri - who gave birth to her second child and first with husband Christian Horner earlier this month - will give a "glimpse into the real world of the female global superstar", that's according to the show's commissioners, the BBC.

The show will also see Geri discuss being catapulted from working class life in Watford to international stardom, and the journey of self-discovery she traveled through in the "decade of hope, opportunity and change."

Geri said in statement: "Personally, it was a journey of self-discovery, reflecting on some amazing things I am incredibly grateful to have experienced. I think the 90s was a very optimistic decade that proved that regardless of who you are and where you come from, you can evolve and change and dreams can come true."

"We are thrilled that Geri has agreed to share her first-hand insights as a leading woman in music, and how the influences of her life have shaped her as a performer," explained Jan Younghusband, the BBC's head of music TV commissioning."

The music documentary will also feature interviews with fellow stars and influencers of 90s music, plus look at not just Girl Power's impact, but also the popularity of boybands, the Brit Pop revolution, and the impact the rave scene had on modern culture of the times.

Geri Horner has scored 4 Number 1 singles on the Official Singles Chart; the only British female soloists who have earned more are Cheryl and Jess Glynne. Look back at Geri's complete UK solo chart history.
