Soundgarden have previewed their first new material in 15 years online.

The grunge legends, who went on hiatus in 1997 before reforming 2010, have posted a snippet new track Live To Rise online.

The single will feature on the upcoming Avengers film, Marvel Avengers Assemble, soundtrack.

"We've been hard at work on our new album, which will come out this Fall," said the band in an official statement. "When the opportunity arose to write an original song for Marvel's The Avengers film, we thought it could be a cool match.”

You can preview the track below.

The Avengers Assemble soundtrack will be released on April 23 and will also feature tracks from Evanescence, Papa Roach, Rise Against, Bush and Kasabian.

Soundgarden will play the Download Festival on June 10 and Hard Rock Calling on July 13.
