Sicario 2 speeding ahead for Number 1 on the Official Video Chart

The First Purge and Ocean's 8 are also set to make the Top 5.

Action and horror is the theme of the week on the Official Video Chart.

Sicario 2: Soldado is speeding ahead of the competition, over 7000 sales ahead of its closest competitor: previous chart-topper The Greatest Showman (2).

US horror The First Purge has also made an impact on the Official Video Chart Update and looks to enter at Number 3 this Sunday. It stands a good chance of keeping its position ahead of Ocean’s 8 (4) which is 1,400 sales behind.

New entries and high climbers

Nicholas Cage horror Mandy enters at Number 8, and John Carpenter's The Fog - newly released on Blu-ray this week - should settle back into the chart at Number 9, though Halloween favourite Hocus Pocus is only 150 sales behind at Number 10.

Animated series Star Wars Rebels: Season 4 currently sits at Number 12, and a second John Carpenter classic, 1988's They Live, looks to enter the chart at Number 14.

Elsewhere in the Official Video Chart, Candyman (20) is heading back to the Top 40; The Bombing is set to enter at Number 22; followed by the return on 2001: A Space Odyssey (23) thanks to a special Blu-ray release.

Finally, British drama Edie opens at 30, just ahead of fellow new entry, Whitney Houston documentary, Whitney (32).
