The Renai-sean-ce continues for Sean Paul this week as his comeback breaks new ground - the Official Trending Chart Number 1.

Sean has risen back to chart supremacy in recent months thanks to collaborating with Little Mix, Sia and Clean Bandit, and now No Lie, a track that he takes lead vocal on, has entered territory that none of his previous singles were able to enter.

No Lie, which features Dua Lipa, has risen from last week's Official Singles Chart placing of 21 to a midweek position of 11. This rise of 10 places has translated to Trending Chart glory, the Official Charts Company's countdown of the 20 songs creating buzz and demonstrating an upward trend.

If you include Sean's uncredited vocals on Cheap Thrills and Rockabye, No Lie will become Sean's 25th Top 40 hit should it hang in the Top 20 by Friday (January 27). The song would also mark Dua Lipa's second entry into the Top 20.

Elsewhere on the trending tally, big Official Singles Chart gains for Sage the Gemini, and Robin Schulz, David Guetta and Cheat Codes see their songs perform strongly on the Trending Chart, while Tinie Tempah's Text From Your Ex and John Mayer's Moving On and Getting Over hit the chart as brand new entries.

Further songs growing in popularity include MO's Not in Love, the girl group's hook-up with Kent Jones, Ryan Gosling & Emma Stone's City of Stars, and Sigala's latest single Only One with Digital Farm Animals.

About the Official Trending Chart

The Official Trending Chart is a brand new chart launched for 2016 to highlight the hottest new tracks beginning to make an impact in the UK every week.

The Top 20 rundown, published on OfficialCharts.com every Tuesday, based on the first four days’ sales of each chart week, is designed to highlight emerging hits as they begin to scale the Official Charts and build buzz.

The Official Trending Chart ranks titles which are showing week-on-week chart growth, and is the only “new music” chart to reflect audio track sales and streams comprehensively across all services.

Devised by the Official Charts Company in close consultation with labels, retailers and media, the chart since launch has highlighted emerging hits such as Number 1 single One Dance by Drake, and The Chainsmokers & Halsey's chart topper Closer.

The chart is designed to help highlight hit singles in their early stages of their growth, in the light of the shift in release strategies of record labels over the past six months. Under “On Air On Sale”, labels have started to release new music for consumers to buy or stream on the same day as those tracks are released to media (including radio stations and TV).
