Rihanna assures fans new music will be worth the wait: "You're not going to be disappointed"

The singer insists she won't be rushed into releasing her next album.

Rihanna has once again addressed fans about her upcoming music, assuring them: "It's going to be worth the wait".

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Rihanna said that she is “always working on music” and won't be rushed into releasing her next record.

"I am always working on music and when I am ready to put it out in the way that I feel fit, it's gonna come out," she said.

"And you're not going to be disappointed when it happens. It's going to be worth it."

Rihanna has recently been replying to her fans on Instagram and their growing impatience for new music, admitting she enjoys playfully antagonising them.

"I'm not just gonna put it out just because people are waiting," she said. "It's taken this long, I'm gonna make it worth it."

It's been four-and-a-half years since Rihanna released her eighth album Anti - a record that ranks as her most critically acclaimed set.

Last year Rihanna said her next album will have a "reggae-inspired" sound, adding: "It’s not gonna be typical of what you know as reggae. But you’re going to feel the elements in all of the tracks."
