Paddington 2 racing to the top of this week's Official Video Chart

Tastier than marmalade sandwiches, Paddington 2 is heading straight in at Number 1 on the Official Video Chart. 

In today's Official Chart Update, a midweek tracker of DVD and Blu-ray sales in the UK, Paddington is head and shoulders above the competition, and has shifted 176,000 units in its first three days on sale. To put the movie's home entertainment release into perspective, that's more than the rest of the Top 40 combined.

Starring Ben Whishaw and Julie Walters, the movie will be the second in the series to hit the top spot; Paddington reached Number 1 in 2015 with first week sales of 424,000. 

Paddington - 1 & 2, a dual pack of both movies is a new entry at Number 4, while the Top 5 is completed by firefighting autobiographical drama Only The Brave at Number 5.

New entries and high climbers 

The original Paddington movie is set to climb nine places to Number 13 this week, while Endeavour: The Complete Fifth Series, could land in the Top 20, a new entry at the halfway point at Number 19.

Willem Dafoe-starring The Florida Project is new at Number 22, and right behind it at 23 is Troy: The Odyssey. Finally, a Disney price promotion is continuing this week across various retailers, leading to huge climbs for The Lion King (27), Finding Dory (30) and The Little Mermaid (38).
