OneRepublic’s Counting Stars is STILL the UK’s most listened to track

Despite tough competition from Lorde’s Royals, OneRepublic top the Official Streaming Chart for a fifth consecutive week with Counting Stars.

OneRepublic’s Counting Stars is still the UK’s most listened to song, the Official Charts Company can reveal.

The track, which made its debut on the Official Streaming Chart 11 week ago, holds onto the top spot for an impressive fifth week in a row.

Ryan Tedder and co. have fought off tough competition from 16-year-old New Zealand singer/songwriter Lorde whose latest single, Royals, climbs an impressive 20 places to enter the Top 10 at Number 2 today. Katy Perry’s Roar falls one place to Number 3, while Miley CyrusWrecking Ball is also down one to Number 4.

Drake’s Hold On We’re Going Home FT Majid Jordan (5) climbs two to complete this week’s Top 5.

New Entries

There are a staggering 17 new entries on this week’s Official Streaming Chart lead by the title track of Arcade Fire’s Official Number 1 album, Reflector, at Number 39. Four other songs from Reflektor also make their Offcial Streaming Chart debuts today – We Exist enters at 58, Here Comes The Night Time (69), Flashbulb Eyes (80) and Normal Person (89).

Dutch duo Showtek are new in at 45 with Booyah, while One Direction’s Story Of My Life debuts a few places behind at 48. Fellow X Factor stars Union J enter at 50 with Beautiful Life, Lady Gaga is at 53 with Do What U Want and Eminem is at 64 with Survival. The US rapper also sees his Official Singles Chart Number 1, The Monster FT Rihanna, enter at 82 today.

Following the death of Lou Reed the weekend before last, fans have been paying tribute to the late Velvet Underground frontman by streaming his songs. Perfect Day enters the Official Streaming Chart for the first time at 75, while Walk On The Wild Side is at 78.

This week’s new entries are completed by Lorde’s 400 Lux (88) and Ribs (92), Rizzle KicksSkip To The Good Bit (90) and Awolnation’s Sail (92).
