Official Charts After Party kicks off with a bang

Friday 6 November saw the first ever Official Charts After Party in association with New Look hit Teesside University.

With headline performances from chart stars Melissa Steel and Karen Harding, the jam-packed bill also saw newcomers WSTRN perform their brand new single In2, which could be heading for next week’s Official Singles Chart Top 40.

"I love coming home to the north east," Karen Harding told OfficialCharts.com, "Everyone's way up for a party. I love living down south but there's just something about being up north, everybody gets their best glad rags on.

"I think the best thing is having amazing friends around, just enjoying the music and having a good time."

The night was hosted by presenter/actor/DJ Cel Spellman, who presents Radio 1's The Number 1 Show and CBBC's Official Chart Show, with resident DJ duo The Mac Twins taking control of a live interactive chart battle where the crowd decided which tunes they wanted to hear.

There are four more Official Charts After Party shows to go before Christmas, hitting up student unions at Surrey University (November 13), Loughborough University (November 20), Keele University (November 27) and University of Hertfordshire (December 4).
