Official Charts Advent Calendar 2012: Day 17
Christmas is fast approaching and, to celebrate, OfficialCharts.com are looking back at all the Number 1s of 2012 with our very own interweb Advent Calendar!
Behind the window of Day 17, is Will.I.Am’s This Is Love FT Eva Simmons.
Despite having five Official Number 1 singles with The Black Eyed Peas, This Is Love was the first solo track by Will.I.Am to reach Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart. And, not only that, it was also the 1,200th track to reach the top spot in the Official Singles Chart’s 60 year history!
"I've had Number 1s before with the Black Eyed Peas, but to me this one means so much,” Will.I.Am told OfficialCharts.com. “I know people thought I can only be successful in the Black Eyed Peas, they were wrong... With love and #willpower you can do anything and I love music... And this is love."
This Is Love sold 102,000 during its first week on sale. It has sold 398,000 copies to date, making it the 37th biggest selling single of 2012 so far.
