The track from the new Black Star Dancing EP takes things back to indie-rock basics.

For the latest single by Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Black Star Dancing, the band channelled their inner David Bowie and Queen. The cherry on top is its '70s-styled music video, which features actual footage from The Wheeltappers and Shunters Social Club, a variety show that aired on ITV between 1974-1977.

The track heads up the band's new EP of the same name, which is out today and features two more new tracks, Rattling Rose and Sail On.

If Black Star Dancing was too much of a curveball for some fans, Sail On dials down the psychedelia and takes things back to indie-rock basics. It's a gentle, melancholic affair about letting go and moving on, hopefully for the better.

It's accompanying lyric video, premiered below, encapsulates the mood of the song. It was made by Ralph Fuller, who has previously worked on visuals for NGHB, plus Oasis' lyric video Up in the Sky.

Black Star Dancing EP by Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds is out now and features in our latest New Music Friday listings, which are updated every Friday.
