MTV renews partnership with the Official Charts Company

Under the new deal between MTV and the Official Charts Company, MTV UK's channels will continue to be the television home of the Official Charts.

MTV have renewed their long-standing partnership with the Official Charts Company to televise the UK’s weekly Official Chart countdowns across its network of music channels and Freeview channel, VIVA.

Since 2008 MTV UK have been broadcasting a range of shows based on the Official Charts which now include the Official Singles Chart Top 40, Official Chart Update, Official Download Chart, Official Urban Chart and Official Dance Chart.

“MTV has been an important partner of the Official Charts since 2008 and we are delighted to extend this relationship,” said Martin Talbot, Managing Director of the Official Charts Company.

“Continuing the successful and beneficial partnership between MTV and the Official Charts Company is a no brainer for MTV,” added Virginia Monaghan, MTV’s Senior Editorial Director of Music Commissioning and Content. “We know our viewers love charts and countdowns and the added authority and credibility of the ‘Official’ stamp make the Official Charts series destination viewing.”
