Meghan Trainor’s Lips Are Movin’ challenging Uptown Funk for Number 1 single
The song holds a narrow lead on today’s Chart Update over Meghan Trainor’s Lips Are Movin’, which vaults 48 places to Number 2 following its full download release this week.
Meghan’s track follows her global smash All About That Bass, which tied Clean Bandit for the longest run at Number 1 for single in 2014, logging four weeks at the top in October.
Elsewhere, Hozier’s Take Me To Church holds at Number 3, Philip George’s Wish You Were Mine is at 4, and Olly Murs and Demi Lovato’s duet Up completes the Top 5.
New entries and high climbers
Avicii’s The Nights, which features vocals from US singer Nicholas ‘RAS’ Furlong, jumps from 16 to Number 9, and Sia’s Elastic Heart lifts from 13 to Number 10.
Other big climbers on today’s Update include Taylor Swift, who rebounds 26 to 11 with Shake It Off, and US band Echosmith, lift 28 to 19 with Cool Kids.
