Because sometimes an unashamedly joyous pop song is the only thing that will do.

In these troubling times, sometimes an uplifting, heartwarming and flagrantly joyous pop song is the only thing that'll do.

Anyone looking for a dose of pure, unadulterated joy should look no further than the new single from Matt Simons. Called We Can Do Better (yup, that's right), it's the kind of jubilant pop song that's the equivalent of being wrapped in a blanket and tells you everything is going to be okay.

Inspiring lyrics? Check. Cheerful trumpets and marching band drums that will induce involuntary head-nodding? Present and correct. A ridiculously adorable music video featuring all singing, all lip-syncing children that will melt the hearts of even the most sceptical? Well, judge for yourself...

"In our world of environmental and political chaos," Matt says, "It's a comforting thought to know that there are children and young people out there who are creating solutions, we need them to deliver more than ever before.”

We Can Do Better, co-written by Emily Warren and Scott Harris (Dua Lipa, Chainsmokers), trails Matt's upcoming third album, which is scheduled for release later this year.

The US singer-songwriter is already popular across Europe, particularly in the Netherlands, where his 2012 single With You is the theme of a popular TV series, leading it to become one of the country's best-selling tracks that year. Could We Can Do Better be the track that breaks him globally? Let us know what you think below.
