Matt Cardle busks in central London

Matt Cardle surprises fans with an impromptu, three song set on London's Carnaby Street.

Former X Factor winner Matt Cardle performed an surprise acoustic set in central London this afternoon (Thursday, October 20).

The singer songwriter, who was appearing on behalf of social enterprise The Big Issue (www.bigissue.com), arrived at London's iconic Carnaby Street with his guitar at 5:15pm and treated the 200 plus people gathered to a 12 minute set. Cardle, who is a contender for the Number 1 spot on this week's Official Albums Chart, gave impassioned renditions of 'All Or Nothing' and the title track from his debut album, 'Letters', as well as a cover of Duffy's 2008 Number 1 smash hit, 'Mercy'.
