Major Lazer, Justin Bieber & MØ’s Cold Water bound for second week at Number 1

Plus there are new entries and high climbers from The Chainsmokers, Christine & The Queens and M.O in this week's update.

They put an end to Drake’s reign at Number 1 last week, and it looks like Major Lazer’s Cold Water could be in for a second stint at the Official Singles Chart top spot.

As things stand on today’s Official Chart Update, the group’s collaboration with Justin Bieber and MØ holds at Number 1, with their closest competition coming from Calum Scott’s Dancing On My Own (2).

The rest of today’s update Top 5 is made up of Jonas Blue and JP Cooper's Perfect Strangers at Number 3, The Chainsmokers’ Don't Let Me Down at 4, and Drake’s One Dance at 5.

New entries and high climbers

French singer-songwriter Christine & The Queens is set for another big climb on this week’s Top 40, currently up nine places from last Friday to 18, while girl group M.O lift six spots to 19 with Who Do You Think Of?

Another artist also scaling this week’s tally is newcomer Anne-Marie, zooming from 32 to 20 with Alarm, and twenty one pilots jump from 34to 23 with their latest single Heathens.

This week’s highest new entry looks set to come from The Chainsmokers – their new collaboration with Halsey Closer starts at Number 35, and Fifth Harmony’s follow-up to Work From Home, called All In My Head (Flex), is set to make its Top 40 debut this Friday, up ten spots to 36 today.

The songs that are climbing at the moment ate months old. The new chart layout means it's taking ages for artists to climb the charts, with some being totally forgotten about. Most of the songs in the chart are in my Q1 and Q2 playlists! Something needs sorting!
