Plus there are big new entries from Metallica, Bruno Mars and more on this week's Official Albums Chart.

Congratulations to Little Mix, who have scored their first Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart today (November 25).

The group’s fourth collection Glory Days shifted just over 96,000 combined sales to bag the top spot – the highest first week sales for a UK girl group Number 1 since Spice Girls’ Spiceworld opened with 192,000 in 1997. It’s also the fastest-selling Number 1 album by any girl group in 15 years, since Destiny’s Child’s Survivor (2001).

Little Mix’s latest release is the 24th Number 1 album to emerge from The X Factor, while its lead single Shout Out To My Ex became Little Mix’s fourth Number 1 single last month, making them the X Factor winners with the most chart-toppers to their name. Glory Days follows Little Mix’s three Top 5 collections DNA (2012), Salute (2013) and Get Weird (2015). Click here to view Little Mix’s complete Official Chart history.

Little Mix join a select few girl groups to have landed a Number 1 album in Official UK Charts' 60-year history. In fact, just seven other acts have managed it, totaling 13 Number 1 records between them. Here's the list:

i'm so happy little mix is getting the success they deserve. they are so talented and i love how they're a true example of female friendship because their chemistry is so real and there's never a motive to outshine another member. their voices blend so naturally and they're all so good at singing. a well-deserved number one.

they are not mass manufactured. unlike many pop groups out there, e.g. actually manufactured bands where it's all just professionalism (many k-pop bands) or western pop groups whose members are all secretly rivals and just fake friendship all around (fifth harmony). unlike all those groups, little mix is actually grounded on real friendship and female support, which is very admirable. they're feminist without even trying. so much people out there try to promote the feminist agenda so aggressively it actually works against the movement. then there's little mix who don't even actively promote the movement yet effortlessly showcases feminism at its most natural and organic. hats off to them tbh. their number one debut this week is truly deserved.

I hate both Metallica and Little Mix but I would have rather seen the former as number 1. Of two evils chose the lesser.

I'm so happy for them, all of their albums have been incredible and I'm so glad that they are topping themselves with each album. The fact that they sold more than Beyonce, Sia, Rihanna, GaGa, Britney, 5H and Meghan Trainor is massive.

I hate "Glory Days", but I must congratulate Little Mix on having such a big sales week. That's impressive.

Hopefully Bruno's album can stick around and score big numbers in the longterm.

Big congratulations to Little Mix! 'Glory Days' has been their best album to date in my opinion & I'm very happy to see it become their highest charting as well. Also, having the biggest opening week sales for a UK female group in nearly 20 years is an incredible achievement! :)
It's also great to see Metallica & Bruno Mars get debuts in the Top 3 as well; both of their albums are definitely good too.

Hey Sunshine Gal! :)
Yeah, I'm definitely excited for the BB200 tomorrow. Even though 'Glory Days' probably won't make the Top 20 in the US, there's always a chance that it could eventually get a boost. It'll be great seeing Metallica & Bruno Mars in the Top 2. :D
For next week, The Weeknd's 'Starboy' should be #1 on that chart. So is 'Glory Days' your favourite Little Mix album then? ;)

oh i wouldn't be too worried if they miss the top 10, but i still think simon should consider a remix to the shout song...i have a feeling a more upbeat tempo will make it a big radio hit! and you know what that means ;) i hope the girls see my comments and can tell simon or if simon himself reads these comments. i mean, i can't guarantee anything of course.

well, my fave lm album is their first album. i was thinking of doing some lm throwbacks...but we both know that they kept falling down on the 200 chart :/ and of course, still not able to crack the top 40...so i decided maybe not. lemme know what you think. i can still do throwbacks on each of their bdays :)
