Little Mix’s Black Magic casts a spell over the Official Singles Chart

The group land straight in at Number 1 on this week's tally.

Little Mix have cast a spell over the Official Singles Chart this week as their new single Black Magic lands straight in at Number 1.

The lead single from the group’s upcoming third album Get Weird debuts at the top with combined sales of 113,000, including 1.19 million streams. Watch the band celebrate their Number 1 below:

Little Mix said: “We’re super-duper excited to be Number 1 with Black Magic - we never thought we’d see the day again. Thank you so much to the fans… you did this!”

Black Magic becomes the band’s third Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart, following their X Factor winner’s single Cannonball (2011) and Wings (2012).

Meanwhile, Years and Years’ Shine holds at Number 2 for a second week, Lost Frequencies’ Are You With Me climbs a place to 3, and Dutch tropical house DJ Sam Feldt lands at Number 4 on today’s tally with Show Me Love. His re-work of the ‘90s club classic out-peaks Robin S.’s original, which reached Number 6 in 1993.

Rounding off this week’s Top 5 is last week’s Number 1 from David Zowie, House Every Weekend.

New entries and high climbers

Avicii earns his eighth UK Top 10 this week with Waiting For Love (Number 6). The entry marks his first Top 10 since 2013’s You Make Me, which peaked at Number 5.

Further down the chart, The Weeknd leaps eight places to reach a new peak of 25 with Can’t Feel My Face, and Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud and Hozier’s Take Me To Church re-enter the Top 40 at 35 and 39 respectively.
