Leona Lewis makes her acting debut in Walking On Sunshine

Summer flick Walking On Sunshine is guaranteed to have you singing all the way home from the cinema, and ahead of its UK release, OfficialCharts.com caught up with stars Leona Lewis and Hannah Arterton (sister of Bond girl Gemma!) to talk all things '80s…

Set in the sun-soaked Italian region of Puglia, Walking On Sunshine sees chart favourite Leona Lewis make her big screen debut as Eleanor, the best friend of love-struck Taylor (Hannah Arterton). "They went on holiday together and both fell in love with two guys," Leona explains, "but Taylor went back to study and do the right thing, and Eleanor followed her heart and stayed."

"Taylor comes back to Puglia because her sister, Maddie (Annabel Scholey), is now living there. She thinks she might rekindle her romance with this guy and finds out her sister’s engaged to him," Hannah continues, "and when it all gets too much they break out into a wonderful '80s classic!"

Leona’s not the only movie newbie – Hannah (Taylor) and Annabel (Maddie) also make their film debuts. "Being my first acting role, [it was reassuring] to know that it was the girls’ first major film" the singer explains. "It was great because we all felt like we were doing it together" Hannah adds, "that was a really lovely experience".

Featuring '80s smash hits like Madonna’s Holiday, Whitney Houston’s How Will I Know and Human League’s Don’t You Want Me, along with a cast including British funny woman, Katy Brand (Lil), and Italian mega-hunk, Giulio Berruti (Raf), what’s not to love?
